About my work:
I specialize in Arabians and dressage/sport type horses (warmblood and Iberian breeds), but other breeds inspire me as well. I first started by customizing Breyer horses when I joined the model horse hobby around 1984. After years of customizing model horses, I made an original sculpture from epoxy and wire. In 1993, I released a resin cast limited edition of my sculpture called Riverside Storm. Nearly a decade later, I released my second resin edition of an Arabian in a halter pose named Tsunami. I continue to sculpt more horses of various breeds for resin editions. Now I am working in non-hardening clay, so I can easily change and fine-tune the piece as needed, which makes it more pleasant. I have learned a lot about horse anatomy and biomechanics since 1993, and I continue studying! I also enjoy hand-painting in acrylics, on both my own sculptures, and those cast in resin by other artists. (below is a favorite older piece, a Breyer plastic horse I drastically customized in 1990, named Destynn.)
